Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy was born and raised on the east side of Cleveland. He attended St. Dominic School, Gilmour Academy, and Case Western Reserve University. His biggest stroke of luck was meeting Cindy Calfee. They were married at St. Paul’s on January 1, 1983. Their four children (Christopher, Margot, Kathleen, and Andrew) were all baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s. They have been blessed with five granddaughters (three arrived in 2022), and those fantastic human beings are now a big part of their lives.

Brian's business life was mainly within the specialty chemical industry in Cleveland, working two years with the Harshaw Chemical Company, eight years with the Murphy-Phoenix Company, two years with JTM Products Company, and ten years with VisiMax Technologies. He is now completely retired from all business activity.

St. Paul’s has been Cindy’s parish her entire life. Throughout their forty years of marriage, St. Paul’s has been the spiritual home of their family and the source of many lasting and treasured friendships. Brian is a past vestry member and Senior Warden, and he is grateful to be again considered for a role in helping to lead our parish community.

The Book of Common Prayer guides our liturgical services. Our varied service schedule provides opportunities to worship in diverse ways, from traditional to more contemporary. There is worship bulletin that will assist you through the service.

Childcare is offered on Sunday mornings for children ages infant through Pre-K from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Our paid staff is trained in health and safety, and silent pagers are made available to parents of infants and toddlers. Please ask a greeter or usher for directions to the childcare rooms.

Sunday morning Christian Formation classes for children and youth meet most Sundays from 10 to 11 a.m. from September through May.
