Youth Acolyte and Lector Training
Thursday, August 17, 2023, 8:36 PM
Youth and children (4th grade and up) who want to serve as acolytes and lectors are encouraged to attend a training to prepare them for these important roles in our worship! This training will give them the skills and confidence to assist in church services while hanging out with friends. Participants will learn the symbolic responsibilities of an acolyte and will discover the history and art of reading scripture passages aloud. Serving as an acolyte and/or a lector enhances public speaking skills and teaches kids how to maintain an air of decorum in front of a crowd; but more importantly, it offers an opportunity to learn more about our tradition, grows friendships between the children, youth, and mentors, and teaches the lifelong skill of servant-leadership. Don't miss the chance to participate in this meaningful ministry. RSVP to Lauren.
