Our Fall forum theme is “Created.” Join us as we explore how much this theme matters to our lives and spiritual growth. Creation, creating, co-creating, and creativity are all rich expressions of God’s love and grace, and by our deeper awareness of these expressions, we can engage with and be more fully nurtured by them. Rev. Patricia will gives us an overview of this Fall theme and lead us in discussion and reflection on related scriptural passages.

Creation is a primal grace of God, of the mystery that we call God to try to comprehend and engage.
One of the basic natures of God is to create. There could have been nothing, but miraculously, there’s something here. We are here with a body and mind, all of us are here together, and we are here in a city, on a planet floating in a vast cosmos.
There are various aspects of creation: creation itself, all of what we see. Our own creation as human beings. Our capacity to co-create with God what is on earth, whether we co-create love, or fear, there is the capacity of all living things to procreate more life of their own kind, there are the gifts of creativity evident in all of creation and within us to create art, music, literature, gardens, vehicles, etc.
To become aware of these various aspects of creation, creating and creativity and to grow more conscious of them in our lives is to understand more clearly the nature of God. By having names for and awareness of these graces we can engage with them more and feel more nourished by them. We can feel them more fully in ourselves as energies, as graces, as nourishment, as TRUE. And the more we feel the true in us, the more we can recognize what is in us that is untrue, false beliefs about who we are, misunderstandings that can make us feel afraid, things that don’t really nourish our soul.
You can see by looking at our forum schedule that there are various expressions of the grace of “creation” and many ways to explore them!
We’re going to be looking at some examples of how these various aspects of creation - creation, creating co-creating, procreation creativity, and creativity as a quality- are expressed in scripture. We’ll look at some texts and reflect on them, using these questions, or feel free to share whatever speaks to you about creation in the texts.
- How does it speak to you?
- What aspect of creation do you relate it to?
- What value does it offer you in your day-to-day living?
