Dear Friends,

New guidance on in-person gatherings is coming out daily. Here is where we stand. We are now streaming a worship service on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. The link to the service will be in This Week @ St. Paul’s (see below) and will be available on our website. We will continue to record music ahead of time for the streamed service until we are able to sing indoors. If you are not able to watch the service at 8:30 a.m., the service is recorded while it is streaming and will be available on YouTube, Facebook, and the website immediately following the service.

Beginning May 23rd, we will add an outdoor worship service at 10 a.m. (followed by the carillon at 11 a.m.). At 4 p.m. on the 23rd, we will gather by Zoom to hear from Austin Channing Brown, author of I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness. Beginning, May 30th, we will add a second outdoor service at 5 p.m. We can accommodate up to 70 at each service – registration is required. We will include the registration link in This Week @ St. Paul’s the Thursday before the service and on our website. If you prefer, you may call the office on the Friday before the service to register. We will be masked and socially distanced (please remember that our youngest are not yet eligible to be vaccinated). You are welcome to bring your own comfortable outdoor chairs. Folding chairs will be available. If it is raining, we will move the service indoors. Please remember that if we need to move indoors, the music will be all instrumental.

Groups and committees are meeting at the church. Please meet in a space that is large enough to accommodate your group socially distanced. The courtyard is a beautiful place to meet, also, on clear weather days. Please call or email Pam to reserve a space.

The Nave is open for personal prayer time Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please enter the building using the north door near the office. We ask that you use the hand sanitizer in the foyer and sign in – just in case we need to contact you. Enter the Nave through the hallway past the Chapel of the Cross. Please remain masked and socially distanced. Hannah Koby will be practicing on the organ every morning from 9 to 10 a.m. Karel will be practicing most afternoons, regularly on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m.

Another opportunity for personal prayer is the labyrinth, which will be setup in Tucker Hall on Wednesdays. Please remember that we have an outdoor labyrinth, also, on the west side of Coventry House.

The relocated Act II Shop will be open on Sunday, May 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please enter the shop by the entrance off the drive near the shop display windows. (Safe shopping protocols will be enforced.) We are extremely excited to show off the new, larger space and the treasures that have come in over the past year. The committee is still completing the schedule for regular shop hours, but in the meantime, please feel free to call the shop at (216) 932-4221 to schedule an appointment. Act II is looking for new volunteers to interact with customers, sort donations, display merchandise, promote social media, etc. Opportunities are available both during and outside of regular shop hours. All volunteers receive a 10% discount on shop merchandise. Please leave a message for Kirsten at the above number requesting more information.

We understand that children and youth under 12 are not eligible yet for the vaccine and that for some people the vaccine is contraindicated. We encourage those who have completed the COVID-19 vaccine to attend worship and programming. Those who haven’t been vaccinated should consider the health risks of group gatherings before attending. We are closely watching CDC guidelines and Diocesan announcements on restrictions. Please remain cautious and follow these guidelines for St. Paul’s worship and programming: stay home if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms; remain masked and socially distanced; consume only individually wrapped food. We will keep you up to date as restrictions change.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I’m so looking forward to seeing you all soon! We have many activities planned for the summer months, so we can enjoy spending time together once again: Holy Hiking Groups, Healing Prayer Worship Services, Outdoor Movie Nights, Yoga, and more! Thanks be to God! Stay tuned for more information…

Peace,

Jeanne+
