World Mission Sunday is a day upon which we uphold our global mission partnerships. On Sunday, February 11, members of Global Mission Action Group will join the processions at 9 and 11:15 a.m., carrying flags of the nations in which we have mission partners around the world. Historic needlepoint kneelers with colorful world flag motifs will adorn the area around the altar. Our hymns and Prayers of the People will also reflect our worldwide support for mission partners.

Join us for an all-parish celebration of Shrove Sunday, February 11, during the 10 a.m. Formation Hour. Immediately following the 9 a.m. service, people will gather on the patio to burn the ashes for Ash Wednesday. We will enjoy a festive celebration in Tucker Hall, with Mardi Gras crafts, pancake races, and a procession to “bury” the children’s Alleluia Banner. Celebrating the rhythm of the church year with these playful traditions that precede the more solemn days of Lent helps us grow in community as we live more fully into the story of our faith.
