Spirituality on the Silver Screen: Jesus of Montreal

St. Paul’s popular movie series Spirituality on the Silver Screen returns on seven Wednesdays in Epiphany. Parishioners host screenings of movies that have particular spiritual significance to them, and lead short discussions afterwards. All “reel spirituality” screenings begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Brooks Room. Free admission and free popcorn, courtesy of the Adult Formation Committee. Come enjoy a movie screening with friends on Wednesdays in January & February!

January 15: Jesus of Montreal (1989) — A comedy-drama which tells the story of a group of actors in Montreal who perform a Passion play in a Quebec church, combining religious belief with unconventional theories on a historical Jesus. As the church turns against the main actor and author of the play, his life increasingly mirrors the story of Jesus, and the film adapts numerous stories from the New Testament.
