movie_4At their best, movies can move, inspire and teach us like no other art form. Last year’s popular movie series Spirituality on the Silver Screen returns on five Wednesdays in Epiphany. St. Paul’s parishioners will host screenings of movies that have particular spiritual significance to them, and lead short discussions afterwards.

All “reel spirituality” screenings begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Brooks Room. Free admission and free popcorn, courtesy of the Adult Forum Committee. Come join us!

January 31: Arrival (2016) — When mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite team, including a linguist and a physicist, race against time to decipher their intent. As tensions mount between fearful governments, Adams’ character discovers the aliens’ true purpose, and to avert global war, takes a chance that could threaten her life and quite possibly, humanity. Hosted by Chris Chance.

February 7: Still Mine (2013) — What would you do to make sure you could care for your spouse as he or she walked the erratic path into dementia?  Still Mine, based on a true story, is the tale of an 80-something Canadian farmer who battles his cognitively impaired wife, seven children, and the local housing authority to build the home he needs to let him care for his wife of 61 years…and wins! Hosted by Eileen Beal.
