Mary DeBoer, a lifelong member of St. Paul’s, will speak about her work as a Foreign Service Officer with the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Dakar, Senegal on Sunday, June 28, following the 10:15 a.m. service. At this program sponsored by St. Paul’s Global Mission Outreach Group, Mary and her husband, Benjamin Bynum, will discuss insights on the management of the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
Mary will share the mission of USAID as an arm of the State Department and what the life of a foreign service officer is like, particularly in Africa. She and Benjamin will talk about their arrival in Dakar, the impact of the Ebola outbreak on their lives and the ways Mary responded to the Ebola crisis as an official with the Health Office.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend this program; a light lunch will be served and childcare will be provided. Contact Ann Farmer for more information.
