Join With Us in a Lenten Journey
Do you ever feel out of alignment with God…your inner self…with others…with nature? If so, the season of Lent can be a time to take on practices to refresh and align our spirit and deepen our walk of faith. Using materials developed by the Society of St. John the Evangelist and Virginia Theological Seminary, Bishop Hollingsworth is inviting our Diocese to embark on a Lenten adventure that can transform our lives.
Growing a Rule of Life is a curriculum for the 40 days of Lent that includes daily videos, a participant workbook, and facilitated conversations with others to help us develop holy habits that can help keep our relationships with God, with one another, and with our communities healthy and thriving. In what our Adult Forum Committee has called “the year of spirituality” this Lenten offering invites each of us to an experience of spiritual growth.
Sign up to receive daily videos from SSJE, and pick up your own workbook with readings and prompts to develop your own “rule of life.” A table will be available at church on Sundays.
Join a small group that will meet during the formation hour at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings to support one another on this Lenten journey. We will watch the videos together, discuss issues raised and work together to “grow our gardens.”
