Decho Ensemble

The Decho Ensemble will present a concert in Tucker Hall on Saturday, July 18, at 7 p.m.

The saxophone, invented in the 1800s by Adolphe Sax, was born into classical music. Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Sax’s birth, saxophonists Sarah Marchitelli, Jacob Swanson, Nicholas Childs and Jared Yackiw will play early works by Florio and Singelée as well as new works by Glass and Knorr. Tango music by Piazzolla and fugues by Bach will also be performed.

The concert is free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be gathered.
