Observing the Feast of All Saints, St. Paul’s Senior Choir directed by Steven Plank will lead choral evensong on Sunday, November 5, at 5 p.m. The music for evensong includes a Magnificat and Nunc dimittis by John Rutter, here unusually writing in the Victorian style of the Anglo-Irish composer, C. V. Stanford, and a festival setting of the medieval hymn, “O quanta qualia,” by William Harris.

The music for William Harris’s “O what their joy” is from a recently acquired anthology of choral music generously given in memory of Jacobus Severiens, who died this past year.  The choir is grateful for this bequest and for the opportunity to use the anthology for the first time in the observance of All Saints, when our minds turn with particular intention to those who have departed this life.

Karel Paukert will play an organ prelude beginning at 4:30 p.m.
